Last week, I shared some of my favorite creative Christmas tree themes…and said that I was going to use one of them as the inspiration for my own Christmas tree.
Well here’s the decorated tree…and now you know that I decided to do a Kate Spade inspired Christmas tree.
This tree is in my home office which is black and gold (you can see that makeover HERE) .
And I have a black Christmas tree*…so the the black, white, gold and pink colors go perfectly in that room. Then I added a few music-related decorations as well, to go with the music-related art in my den.

I like to get all of the ornaments I’m going to use ready ahead of time. That way you can see what you have.
You’ll need black, white, pink and gold Christmas tree ornaments, pink wired ribbon and some gold ribbon to make this tree work.
Start With White Lights
I used a black artificial Christmas tree, but since most of the tree will be covered by the time you are finished, any kind of tree would work.
If your tree doesn’t come with lights already installed, string some mini white Christmas lights on the tree.
I like to add the decorations with the lights turned on, since it’s easier to see what it will look like as you go.
Add Gold Ribbon and Pink Garland
Next wrap the gold ribbon around the tree. I used 2 different types of ribbon with different textures.
It will look more natural if you twist the ribbon as you go, and wind it in and out of the tree.
Next add the pink bead garland. If you can’t find a garland, you could also use mardi gras beads.
Fill The Tree With Gold Ornaments
Because I had a lot more gold Christmas ornaments than the other colors, I used them to hang inside the tree and fill a lot of the holes. The gold also works well because it reflects the light making the tree sparkle.
Save some of the glittery gold ornaments to be used at the end of the decorating process.
Add Tree Picks
Add tree picks and gold feathers at the top of the tree. This draws attention to the top of the tree.
Make A Big Pink Bow
For the bow, create multiple loops in the middle of the ribbon and then use a sash pin to hold it all together.
Then push the ribbon into the branches as it goes down the tree.
Hang The Pink, Black and White Ornaments
Hang the black, white and pink ornaments. Try to distribute them around the tree.
Finish With The Rest Of The Gold Ornaments
Finally, finish with the rest of the gold ornaments.
On my tree, these finishing touches included the music ornaments, and the pink and white Joy ornaments.
The Finished Tree
Black, white, pink and gold ornaments set the tone for the tree.
The pink bow at the top of the tree draws attention.
The black, white, pink and gold ornaments are a beautiful combination.
The tree really sets the Christmas spirit in the office.
